When
I was living in California from 2005-2007, I attended this awesome church called “Crossroads.” They had such intimate
worship (amazing for a congregation of 3,000+) and impactful teaching driven by the Holy Spirit, a Presence you could feel.
Every Sunday I walked out of church moved to tears by the multiple baptisms and refreshed by the music and sermon. It was
then that I realized how connected my soul was to the art of worshiping our Creator through song. I was introduced to songs
like “God of Wonders” and “Blessed Be Your Name” which remain atop my list of favorite worship tunes.
When I moved back to Flint to be nearer to my family and start college, I was very grateful to be given the opportunity to
lead GRACE’s worship and I still get nervous every Sunday before service. It’s a humbling experience to encourage
the congregation to come before the throne of God and offer our praises.
GRACE seeks to offer a blended worship experience drawing on traditional hymns and contemporary songs alike
to express our love for Him. As the director of Worship Arts I’m beginning to involve skits and I’m starting a
video project in the summer of 2011 called “I’m There.”
As I continue
to learn about God and His love, I see more and more He is a might force, and I pray that my heart remains devotes to Him.
